Owners Representative Services

I come from a family of Architects and I have worked in construction for thirty five years, starting out as a laborer and working my way through a carpentry apprenticeship to become a carpenter, a foreman, and a construction superintendent in residential and commercial construction. From there I moved on to project management progressing from project manager, to project director, project executive and team leader in commercial construction. I spent roughly half of my career in the field and half in management of construction projects.

I have experience in all phases of construction in historical rehabilitation, renovations, additions, new buildings and site improvements from green field to completion. My responsibilities have included field supervision and scheduling, personnel management and human resources. I am versed in proposals, estimating, plan and constructability review, conceptual pre-construction through close-out on diverse projects in colleges and universities, hospitals, schools, libraries, prisons, an airport, business offices, apartment complexes, churches, and homes. I have a certification in Design-build from the Design-Build Institute of America. I am also experienced in at risk construction management, CM-GMP, CM-Agency and competitive bid-build construction.

I have utilized these skills as an Owners Representative to help organizations work through what may be unfamiliar territory of commercial construction. I have helped them, their architects, and contractors navigate around pitfalls that too often cause the construction process to seem a potentially contentious nightmare. It just doesn’t have to be that way. It is possible for all parties to be successful and for a project to come in on budget and in an agreed upon timeframe. I have been recognized as a team oriented leader emphasizing forethought, organization, and efficiency with proven success in executing even the most difficult projects with excellence and efficiency defined by Quality, Service, Timeliness and Cost control.
